LG v700: A Comprehensive Product Specifications Review

lg v700

LG is a multinational electronics company that has its headquarters in South Korea. The company produces products for home entertainment, home appliance and air solutions, vehicle components, and mobile communications. LG  Electronics is the second largest manufacturer of televisions worldwide. The company was founded originally as GoldStar and was founded after the Korean War in order to provide the country with consumer electronics that were produced domestically.

The first radios, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and televisions in South Korea were produced by GoldStar. A merger took place between LG Cable and Lucky Chemical, which changed the name of the corporation to Lucky-Goldstar. Later, the company settled on LG Electronics as the name that would continue forward with the brand.

If you are interested in an LG tablet device or a device from another brand, the first step should be to set a limit for yourself that you would feel comfortable paying for the device. You should not exceed this maximum that you set for yourself, as staying within your budget can help you to narrow down the devices out there to find the best one for you. Before you even begin to look at different models, filter your search results to only show those that are within your budget.

You should also look for tablets that have features that you believe you would enjoy or use in your daily activities. If you need your tablet for productivity reasons, it may do well to search for tablets that include a detachable keyboard. For the visual artists out there, tablets that include pens may be a good place to start. Another feature that may be a deal breaker for some users is the size of the screen. This should be kept in mind during your search.

The LG V700 is a tablet computer that contains a touchscreen and is primarily used for personal computing while on the go. Tablets can generally connect through Wi-Fi for an internet connection; however, some models come equipped with a data plan much like your smartphone’s plan.

The size of a tablet’s screen can range from 7 inches to 11 inches. The larger size lends itself well to the productivity apps for tablet devices and other activities that may not be best suited for small cellular phone screens. Additionally, with a tablet, you have most of the functionality of a personal computer or laptop with improved portability.

What Does an LG V700 Do?

Tablet computers are capable of accomplishing a wide variety of tasks. Many are used to stream movies, television shows, or music. Others are used more often to play games downloaded from the app store. Some are mainly used for browsing the web and catching up on all of the latest social media, and more still are used for productivity purposes. There are a variety of different tablets out there that include or have accessories such as detachable Bluetooth keyboards that can assist you when you convert your tablet from mobile mode to laptop mode.

These types of accessories help to transform the tablet computer into a device that is great for note-taking, writing papers, drafting emails, or any other word processing that you may need to do. Most of these devices also include both rear and forward-facing cameras as well as external speakers and auxiliary jacks for cameras that suit these devices for video chat and other social platforms.

How Does It Work?

Typically, tablets operate like a combination of a laptop computer and a smartphone, as they both use microprocessors that allow the devices to perform functions and operates like the brain of the device. Additionally, these devices have rechargeable batteries that generally can last from eight to 10 hours.

Accelerometers and gyroscopes will also likely be included in the devices so that it is able to sense motion. These capabilities are used by games and augmented reality applications. A graphics processor in the tablet also displays all of the information inside of the tablet on its touchscreen.

There is a flash memory in the tablet that stores your data in order to allow quick access to it when you need to find it. The touchscreen of the tablet is brought to life by a controller chip that recognizes touch by capacitive or resistive measures. Capacitive systems can detect electrical field changes while resistive screens detect input from pressure. Most resistive screens use a stylus for navigation.

Tablet FAQs

Before we get into reviewing the tablets, let us go over some frequent questions consumers have about Digiland tablets. The answers to these questions can help you understand more about this brand and about buying a tablet.

1. What is Digiland?

Digiland is a tablet brand that you may not have heard of before. It is fairly new, having been founded in 2011. The full company name is Digiland Technology Co., Ltd. It is an Asia-based company. While Digiland may not be well-known, some of its products have received excellent reviews for quality and overall value. This company sells tablets that run on the lower-end of the price range for all tablets on the market.

2. What is a tablet?

A tablet falls between a smartphone and computer when it comes to size and functionality. Most tablets have a 7- to 10-inch screen and offer the ability to do many of the same things a computer can. This device also provides the portability of a cell phone. Some tablets can be hooked up to a cellular service, but most operate off Wi-fi. They let you access the internet and apps, so you can watch movies, play games or just surf the web.

3. Can a tablet replace a laptop?

For some people, a tablet can be a good substitute for a laptop, especially if the tablet is a 2-in-1 and has a keyboard that attaches to it. Some people may find that a tablet responds or performs slower than a laptop, which may not make it ideal for everyone. However, tablets are even more portable than laptops, so for someone on the go, they could be perfect. The biggest issue is they are not really designed to be laptops, so if you want laptop functionality, you will probably pay laptop prices.

4. Is it a good idea to buy an off-brand tablet?

Off-brand tablets often have some issues with consistency in quality. If they are budget priced, you will probably run into operating issues, including crashes and slowness. However, this is true for any brand, even the well-known names. With off-brand devices, the biggest issue is usually a lack of customer service and support. You may have trouble getting in touch with anyone, and when you do, he or she may not speak English well enough to help you. This is because off-brand products are typically made in other countries. However, the key to making sure an off-brand tablet will be worth the money is to look at the operating system. Make sure it is the newest possible version. This should help you to avoid some of the major issues people have with off-brand tablets.

The Verdict

When it comes to what we learned about Digiland tablets, it seems that experiences are hit or miss. Some people really loved their tablets, while others had major issues and were completely unsatisfied. There were some issues with start-up in certain models, and most users found these problems to be horrible enough to cause them to return the devices. However, others discovered quick fixes in the form of YouTube videos that explain how to bypass the setup issues.

For those who were able to use their devices, they actually had good experiences with a few of the ones on our list. It should not be surprising that the devices we thought were the best are those running on the newer versions of the Android operating system. These run smoother and faster and allow for the downloading of all apps available in the Google Play Store.

The DL1168AK was chosen as our overall best pick. It offers a newer Android OS, along with a nice screen size and generally good reviews. Only a few users complained about processing speeds, which could be accounted for by slow connections on their end, so we didn’t give those complaints a lot of weight when making our decision. We feel this is probably the best Digiland tablet that we reviewed. It had some really good consumer comments about it being efficient and a great value. It also had the fewest complaints.

If you are looking for a good tablet that gives you a bit more for your money, then the 2-in-1 tablet/DVD player from Digiland is a good choice. Again, this is running a newer OS. It also got mostly positive reviews. The biggest downsides are the weight and size, but that is to be expected since it is also a DVD player. You will trade the sleek, slim look for that extra usability. Users thought it did a great job of playing DVDs, and the tablet functions were also on point. There were no complaints about speed or other operating issues with this one. So, if you don’t mind the bulky size, this could be the best pick, especially if you are looking for a portable DVD player.

Finally, if you need a tablet for a child, the DL8006 is the way to go. It is built strong and has a great 8-inch screen size that is ideal for little hands. In addition, it has a loud speaker, and the viewing angle isn’t as limited as some of the other tablets. It also is a good price if you don’t want to spend too much.

We also want to mention that none of the tablets we found from Digiland are 2018 models. They have all been released in 2017 or prior. This could produce some issues when a new Android update is released, but with the prices being as low as they are, it is hard to worry about that. You will likely get your money’s worth from the tablet before updating becomes a concern. In addition, if you are just buying the tablet for a child, it does not really need to be extremely fast or functional as long as it can handle the low-demand kids games and activities your child is likely to use it for. If you are getting the tablet for yourself, you may find the slower processing speeds to be a little frustrating.

It is important to keep in mind that a lesser-known brand, such as Digiland, will probably not have easily accessible support or customer service. That means it is important to buy from a retailer that will offer such support or at least provide you with an easy return process should you run into setup or operation issues shortly after purchasing. However, the online community does seem to offer good support for these tablets, so do a quick search before giving up if you do run into issues during set up.

LG-V410 Tablet: A Comprehensive Product Review

lg-v410

There are so many tablets on the market today that making a decision can be difficult. The key to narrowing down your choices is to look at each tablet’s specific features. Think about what you want to do with your tablet and buy one based on that. If you’re looking to capture high-quality videos and pictures, or even slow-motion videos, you can look for a tablet with those features. If storage is your main concern, you’ll probably want to look for a tablet that allows you to expand its storage capacity with a microSD card.

Another good way to shop for tablets is to buy a tablet from a well-known brand. You’re rolling the dice if you go for the cheapest tablet you can find from a brand you’ve never heard of, but you know a tablet from one of the popular brands will live up to your expectations. LG is one of the top brands when it comes to electronics, and although it doesn’t make the LG-V410 tablet anymore, this device is still a good option if you’re looking for a powerful tablet with a great display.

Although the LG-V410 is discontinued, you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a store that sells it. This tablet retails for about $100 brand new but can also be found used at various locations. If you’re considering purchasing the LG-V410 and want to know more about its features and specifications, check out this review to find all the information you need. If you are interested but can’t find any place to purchase the tablet, perhaps you would be interested in newer models from LG.

What To Look For

[amazon fields=”B00MLI3AE2″ value=”thumb” image_size=”large” image_align=”center”]

To know whether a tablet is good or not, you need to know what makes a solid tablet. The first thing you’ll notice with any tablet is its display and build quality. If a tablet looks and feels nice on the outside, that’s a huge plus. The next features you’ll want to worry about are the processing power and storage capacity of the tablet. Most tablets come in sizes of 8, 16 and 32 GB, but the most important thing to look for when it comes to storage is microSD expandability. Most tablets that have microSD slots allow you to use cards with up to 256 GB. As for processing power, you’ll want a tablet with plenty of RAM and a good processor, which means a dual-core or quad-core with a high clock speed—preferably one above 1.5 GHz.

The camera is another huge factor when it comes to buying a tablet. This is especially true if you’re buying a smaller tablet or one with LTE since there’s a good chance you’ll be traveling with your tablet. Look for at least a five MP camera that can capture HD pictures and videos. Possible additional features include LED flash, slow-motion or 60 FPS video capture and auto image stabilization.

Size & Display

The LG-V410 has a 7” HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. IPS screens offer much better viewing angles than older TN screens do, and they have a generally cleaner look overall. Couple that with the high resolution and you get videos and images that look great despite the smaller screen.

As far as the overall size of the tablet goes, the LG-V410 is 7.45 inches tall, 4.48 inches wide, and 0.39 inches thick. This is pretty normal for a tablet of this size, but it should be noted that the V410 uses a slightly larger bezel compared to other 7” tablets. Because of this, the tablet has a sort of bulky appearance that almost makes it look like a kids’ tablet, although the rest of the sleek design makes it look more suitable for adults. Despite its looks, the LG-V410 weighs in at only 10.4 oz with a pretty hefty battery, which is an impressive feat to accomplish.

Processor & Memory

lg-v410

As far as processing power goes, the LG-V410 definitely delivers. No matter what you’re trying to do — whether it’s watching HD video or playing your favorite game — you shouldn’t have any issues with the V410. The processor in this tablet is a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, which can easily handle any tasks on your tablet.

The memory in the LG V410 leaves a bit to be desired, however. There is only one GB of RAM in the V410, and LG doesn’t specify what kind of RAM it actually is in terms of DDR. This isn’t necessarily a big problem when you’re dealing with day-to-day operations, but you may run into some issues if you’re running a particularly demanding app.

Storage & Expandability

As important as processing power is, you also need ample storage to make sure you can actually enjoy the features of your tablet. If you don’t have enough storage, you’ll have to delete apps, photos and videos every time you want to store something new. Ideally, you should have at least 64 GB of storage in your tablet, although that isn’t necessary for everybody.

The LG-V410 comes with 16 GB of internal memory, but you can only use about 11 GB of it—the rest is reserved for operating system files. You can expand your storage with a microSD card, although only cards up to 32 GB are supported. You will also have to buy a microSD card separately as the tablet doesn’t come with one. Still, with a total of about 40 GB of user storage, you should have enough space to use your tablet freely.

Battery

While battery life isn’t a big concern for every tablet user, many people buy tablets so they can have a portable version of their computer. Ironically, the tablets with the most powerful batteries are usually the largest tablets, which aren’t quite as portable. When you shop for a smaller tablet like a 7” or an 8”, you want to take a close look at the battery to make sure it will serve you well.

The LG-V410 has a fairly powerful 4,000 mAh battery that is rated for 24 days and 22 hours of standby time. While you shouldn’t expect to get this much battery life out of your LG-V410 when you’re using it, it’s nice to know that you can leave it on for more than three weeks when it’s fully charged. A talk time of 10 hours means you can expect to get a decent amount of battery life out of your LG-V410 even when you’re actively using it. This time will vary depending on your brightness settings, the age of your tablet and whether you’re listening to music or watching videos.

Keep in mind that your battery will degrade with time, so you can’t expect your tablet to maintain the same battery life over several years. If you notice that after a year your tablet isn’t lasting quite as long as it used to, know that this is a completely normal occurrence with lithium-ion batteries.

Camera

While most people shop for tablet and phone cameras based mostly on the megapixel rating, you should actually be looking at a lot more than that when you buy your tablet. There are tons of different tablets with the exact same megapixel rating, but that doesn’t tell the entire story. You also need to know the resolution at which a camera takes pictures and videos, the framerate at which it shoots videos and the features it has to help you capture high-quality media.

The LG-V410 has two cameras: a front-facing camera and a rear-facing camera. The rear-facing camera is five MP and can capture pictures at resolutions up to 2560 x 1920. The front-facing camera is mainly used for video chatting and taking selfies, so it isn’t nearly as powerful. Still, it is a 1.3 MP camera with a soft light setting, so you can get the optimal lighting for your photo despite the lower megapixels.

What really makes the LG-V410 camera special, though, are the additional features. All of your pictures and videos can be automatically geotagged for you, so you will know exactly where you were when you made that precious memory. There are two different shot modes for you to select between: panorama and auto. The panorama mode allows you to pan with your phone to take a wider picture so your camera can capture everything that you see.

When you’re making videos, you can use the pause button to stop your recording until the action resumes. When you’re finished filming and hit the stop button, all of those recordings will be combined into a single video file. This is a great feature because it allows you to get all the action you need to capture over the course of a few hours without simply shooting a three-hour video. The last feature you’ll find on the LG-V410’s camera is the ability to take still shots while you are recording live video. This lets you capture high-quality pictures without having to pause the video and take a screen capture of it.

App Availability

[amazon box=”B00MLI3AE2″]

While it’s far from the most important feature of a tablet, app availability definitely plays a role in how useful a tablet is. Third-party apps can allow you to customize your device and make all of your day-to-day tasks easier, whether you frequently need a calculator close by or hate lugging around your laptop to read recipes.

The LG-V410 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat installed, which means you have access to all of the apps on the Android market. Instead of downloading your apps from the App Store like you would with an Apple device, you get all of your apps for the LG-V410 from the Google Play store. While there will definitely be some apps in the App Store that aren’t available in the Google Play store, you shouldn’t have a problem finding most of the apps you need. There are also suitable replacements for any App Store apps you can’t actually find.

Before purchasing an LG-V410, make sure there aren’t any apps you need that aren’t available in the Google Play store. If you’re buying your tablet for one specific purpose and you can’t even download an app to use it for that purpose, then the tablet is not much use to you at all.

For a similar price to the LG-V410, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0” or another similar tablet. That’s not to say you shouldn’t purchase the V410. After all, it still has some really great features. However, you might want to compare a few different options if you’re considering buying the V410.

Tablet Keyboard: Comprehensive Comparison and Consumer Guide

Male office worker typing on the keyboard. studio shot

While one of the major selling points of tablets is their portability, the typing experience sometimes leaves something to be desired. Most of us are used to typing on touch-screens for our cell phones but doing so on a tablet can be awkward and time-consuming. Those who spend a lot of time typing on their tablets may want to consider a tablet keyboard to make the process go smoother. We have amassed what we believe are the best tablet keyboards of 2018 to make your typing easy and your work go by faster.

Product FAQ

What does a tablet keyboard do?

A tablet keyboard will connect to your tablet (usually wirelessly) in order to help you type faster and more accurately. Generally speaking, a tablet keyboard should be paired with a tablet stand or tablet case to hold up the tablet while you’re typing, but some tablet keyboards can hold the tablet on its own.

Will a tablet keyboard work with my tablet OS?

Most tablet keyboards these days can work with different OS setups, even if they are made by a specific company (i.e., Microsoft keyboards will indeed sync with Apple iPads). However, you will always want to check to make sure that the keyboard will sync with your OS. If your tablet has one of the major OS systems (Android, Windows, iOS), then most tablet keyboards on the market will sync with it. If you have a different OS, you will want to do more research.

Is it difficult to type on a tablet keyboard?

Some tablet keyboards are smaller than traditional keyboards. If you’re a touch-typist, this will probably require some level of adjustment. Most skilled typists can adjust to a smaller keyboard with relative ease. If you are concerned about size, there are also some keyboards out there that are full-sized and work well with tablets, though you do compromise a bit of portability if you’re lugging around a full-sized keyboard.

How We Reviewed

We wanted to choose tablet keyboards that worked with multiple OS systems and also played to a variety of needs. Some people value portability over ease of typing, and others couldn’t imagine ever trying to adjust to a half-sized keyboard. We tried to select the best of all worlds. Plus, we kept an eye on the budget and tried to cater to a variety of price points. Lastly, no matter how much or how little we spent on the tablet keyboard, we always had an eye on quality.

The Best Tablet Keyboards

One of the major complaints that many typists have about the smaller made-for-tablet keyboards is that they often make the typing experience feel very cramped. Smaller tablet keyboards often have smaller keys, and the keys are placed closer together. This can cause experienced touch-typists to miss keys and become frustrated. The Anker Ultra Compact Slim Profile Keyboard is a great solution to this problem. It’s a bit smaller than regular keyboards and a bit larger than normal tablet keyboards, so the Anker keyboard can provide you with a full-sized keyboard typing experience in a smaller package.

Key Features

The biggest feature of the Anker Ultra Compact Slim Profile Keyboard is how it fits a full-sized keyboard into a smaller package. This is a rechargeable keyboard, and one charge should last you around six months.

Our Verdict on the Best Tablet Keyboard

Again, we reviewed a variety of different keyboards because the best tablet keyboard really depends on your tablet computing needs. However, we absolutely fell in love with the OMOTON Ultraslim Bluetooth Keyboard. It’s the least expensive keyboard on the list, but it checked off a number of boxes for us. First of all, it ’s very light, and it’s very portable. It will take a bit of adjustment if you are used to a full-sized keyboard, but we didn’t find the adjustment process to be all that painful.

We also really adore the look of the OMOTON Ultraslim Bluetooth Keyboard. Many reviewers used Apple iPads, and when the iPad was combined with the OMOTON Ultraslim Bluetooth Keyboard and a metal stand, it really did look like they were using a miniature iMac. In addition to being adorable, this is also a great corporate look.

The fact that it’s made from plastic means that it doesn’t have the same feel as an Apple proprietary keyboard, but we’re completely sold on its price point. However, if you think that you’ll need a backlight in order to type properly, be aware that the OMOTON Ultraslim Bluetooth Keyboard doesn’t have it.
